Aspire is an Electrical Muscular Stimulation (EMS) fitness technology wearable that was created to help individuals who lead sedentary lifestyles or dislike physical exercise stay in shape. Leveraging on electrical impulses calibrated to a specific frequency, it mimics the impulses sent by the central nervous system to your muscles to get them to contract. This allows users to reap the benefits of a workout without having to physically move an inch!
Aspire targets 4 major muscle groups: the abdominals, glutes, quads and hamstrings. Eight electrodes embedded within the Aspire pants deliver the electrical impulses to the muscles. The intensity of the session is fully customisable as well; the Aspire device allows the user to be in full control over the intensity for each muscle group, making it suitable for everybody regardless of fitness levels.
Besides for toning up your muscles and burning calories, Aspire is also able to help improve your skin tone! The science behind Aspire’s EMS technology involves the stimulation of the dermis layer of the skin. It causes the collagen in the skin to contract and tighten. Over time, repeatedly stimulating the targeted areas triggers the acceleration of the fibroblast’s metabolism (fibroblasts are responsible for the synthesis of collagen). This then significantly boosts the generation of new collagen, “locking” the skin in its tighter form for a smoother and firmer appearance.
A: It’s really simple! Turn over the pants with the logo facing outwards and place it inside the laundry net that comes with the Aspire set. Set the washing mode of your washing machine to delicate wash/wool and you’re ready to go! Afterwards, hang the pants out to dry. Just take note that you should not be exposing the pants to strong, direct sunlight or putting it in a dryer.
Q: Do I have to wash the pants after every use even if I don’t perspire?
A: We recommend users to wash the pants after every use as the gel might stay on the paddings and affect the connectivity of the pants after prolonged usage.
Q: What kind of exercises can I do with the pants?
A: There are no limitations to the type of exercises you can do with the pants. The only exceptions are water activities as the Aspire device cannot come into contact with water.
Q: Can I use Aspire everyday?
We do not recommend using Aspire every day. Your muscles need ample time to recover from a workout. Using Aspire 3 to 4 times a week is ideal with a day worth of rest in between sessions.
Q: Can I wear it to sleep?
A: There’s a 30-minute timer built into the Aspire device and it turns off automatically after the session is over. You can wear it to sleep, but it might be uncomfortable during the session as your muscles are still contracting periodically.
Q: What level of intensity should I choose?
A: Everybody has a different tolerance level, so we suggest starting with a lighter intensity. You can gradually increase the intensity after about 5-10 minutes if you still feel it’s too light. Larger muscle groups such as the legs and glutes can generally accept a higher level of intensity so a good starting point is 20% to 30% while for the abdominals, you can start with 10 to 15%.
Q: I feel a prickly sensation. Is this normal?
A: Make sure to apply a generous amount of gel onto the areas that will be in contact with the paddings. The gel helps to moisturize the skin and prevents such occurrences.
Q: Who is Aspire for?
A: Aspire is for everybody, regardless of your age, gender, or lifestyle. It can be used to supplement an active lifestyle or to help maintain your figure if you lead a sedentary one. You do not need to make drastic changes to your daily routine to start using Aspire either!
Q: I just gave birth, can I use Aspire?
A: Users are recommended to take a break from any exercise/vigorous movements.
Natural birth – 3 months
C-section – 6 months
Q: have an open wound, can I use Aspire?
A: If you have any open wounds on your lower body, we recommend using Aspire only after full recovery.
Q: Are there any side effects from using Aspire?
A: Nope! If you feel any aches or discomfort after using Aspire, it is due to your muscles being overworked. Aspire is just like engaging in a workout, so it is normal to feel such aches after a session.
